IDHS & Medical Task Force 6 "Working together!"
Working with Indiana Department of Homeland Security is a GREAT thing for our Task Force. Medical Task Force Commander Jason Rogers is pictured here with executive director of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security Joseph E. Wainscott, Jr. and
the Field Services Division Director Gerri Husband. This photo was taken at the District Emergency Management Update and Commander Rogers was lobbying for the Medical Task Force. We were paid many complements from the Director Wainscott. The importance of these relationships are imperative during times of disaster.
The Field Services division ensures the coordination of IDHS activities and the centralization of the resources that are most directly involved in establishing, supporting, and communicating with the District Task Forces (DTFs)including our Medical Task Force. Director Husband attended training and has has first hand knowledge of our dedication and capabilities.
Why this is important to the task force Under IC 10-14-3-19 (a), only the Governor or the Executive Director of IDHS has the authority to activate a MOBILE SUPPORT UNITS (MSU). A mobile support unit is a temporary response organization that may be formed and then activated by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security ie. District 6 Medical Task Force.
